Description

Description

Tween-20 is a non-ionic surfactant that is useful for solubilizing membrane proteins during isolation. Tween-20 is also added to buffers for immunohistochemistry. Tween-20 may also help to prevent non-specific antibody binding and function as a blocking agent in immunoblotting assays. It has been used in preextraction of membranes to remove peripheral proteins.
