Description
Thermo Scientific™ Mini 900 Contamination and Radiation Monitors serve as a portable or benchtop style radiation counter available with a variety of different probes. These designs are particularly attractive for industrial hygiene applications; well established, reliable, convenient and inexpensive radiation meter.
- Large, logarithmically-scaled meter; open scale at the lower end shows background levels while displaying high levels without switching
- Speaker gives audible estimate of radiation intensity Alarm can be set to trip at any level on the scale
- Battery or mains operation using a separate power unit; internal constant current charger for rechargeable batteries included
- Lightweight aluminum case
- Comprehensive manual containing tables, curves of response to radiations, and other useful information
- Several configurations available
- Battery or line powered
- Very affordable
- Packaged in a durable, lightweight aluminum case
- Equipped with a choice of GM or scintillation probe, matching logarithmically-scaled meter, and extensible cable
- The Mini 900E and Mini 900EP15 are available scaled in counts per second or counts per minute
Type R:
- Monitoring High Level Dose Rates A monitor scaled over the range 0.5 to 5000μSv h-1 (0.05 to 500mR/h)
- G-M tube is compensated to give a useful response from 45keV to 1.5MeV and above
- Not recommended for monitoring X-radiation from apparatus operating below 75 kVp
Type G:
- Monitoring for Low Environmental Dose Rates Highly sensitive performance
- Scaled over the range 0.05 to 75μSv h-1 (0.005 to 7.5mR/h)
- Useful energy range: 55keV to 1.5MeV and above
- Not suitable for monitoring X-radiation
Type D:
- Uses partially compensated G-M tube to obtain an extended low energy response
- Scaled over the range of 0.5 to 1000μSvh-1 (0.05 to 100mR/h)
- Useful energy range: 30keV to 1.5MeV but response is maintained down to at least 17keV
- Suitable for measuring radiation from X-ray apparatus operating at or above 45kVp
Type X:
- Scaled 0.5 to 2000 counts per second
- Uses an end window G-M tube without energy compensation
- Sensitive to radiation down to 10keV
- Useful for locating X-ray leakage from a variety of systems including high voltage equipment
- Not intended for measurement but as a relative check device
Includes:
Alkaline batteries, probe, cable, and instruction manual
Recommended for:
- Research
- Hospitals
- Industrial laboratories
- Academic laboratories
