1-Butylamine is used as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, synthetic tanning agents, dyestuffs and emulsifiers. It also plays an important role in the preparation of N,N'-dibutylthiourea, a rubber vulcanization accelerator. It is involved in the preparation of n-butylbenzenesulfonamide, which is a plasticizer of nylon.

Applications
