It is used in the production of drugs, alkaloids, additive in floor cleaners, consumer products and stain removers. It is used as a mobile phase in paper and thin layer chromatography. It is also used as an alternative for gasoline and diesel fuels.

Solubility
Miscible with alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. Slightly miscible with water.
Notes
Keep the container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Incompatible with strong acids and strong oxidizing agents, alkali metals and halogens.
