HDAC9 Mouse anti-Human, Clone: OTI5B8, liquid, TrueMAB™
Description
HDAC-9 is a histone deacetylase with an important role in the regulation of gene expression and hematopoiesis. A nuclear protein, HDAC-9 belongs to the histone deacetylase family with several isoforms and is inhibited by Trichostatin A (TSA) and suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid. It helps in deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4) and gives a tag for epigenetic repression and plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. MEF2-dependent transcription is repressed by HDAC-9 by recruiting HDAC-1 and/or HDAC-3. It also inhibits skeletal myogenesis and is involved in heart development. Ubiquitous but variable expression is seen in brain and other tissues like heart, pancreas and also in human bladder carcinoma cells. Lack of HDAC-9 protein is found in a family with Peters anomaly, a central corneal leukoma.
