Protective coveralls, also referred to as safety coveralls, are specialized garments designed to provide full-body protection in hazardous industries including, but not limited to, construction, chemical processing, healthcare, manufacturing, laboratories, and controlled environments. Protective coveralls are available in single-use, limited-use, or reusable styles and have specific characteristics and purposes to ensure the health and safety of wearers in various environments.
Protective coveralls have many uses, including:
- Safeguarding against exposure to harmful chemicals, solvents, and/or hazardous substances
- Protecting against biological hazards such as bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens in healthcare and laboratory settings
- Providing heat and flame resistance protection in electrical arc flash or environments that have potential fire hazards
